Taking a home sample collection test

What is home sample collection testing?

The term ďhome sample collectionĒ means that you can take the test yourself in private in your home, without the need to involve a doctor or third party.

How do I take a home sample collection test?

Each of the tests we offer requires a specific sample, such as urine, blood spot or saliva (cheek swab). The sample to be provided as well as detailed instructions for taking each individual test will be included in all of our test kits, so you donít need to worry that you wonít know how to take the test once you receive it.

What happens once I have provided my sample?

Once the test sample has been taken according to the instructions in your test kit, you need to complete all necessary forms and documentation and prepare your sample for postage to our partner laboratory. Once this is complete, simply place the sample and all forms into the laboratory-addressed return envelope and drop it in a post box as soon as possible.

What happens when the laboratory receives my test sample?

Once the lab has received your completed test sample at their premises, they will immediately start the test processing service and will notify us as soon as your results are ready.

How accurate are the tests?

All our home sample collection tests are up to 99.9% accurate for disease detection. As they are processed in a secure and accredited laboratory, itís ensured that strict regulatory and testing procedures are adhered to and you will be provided with the most accurate results possible at all times, provided you have followed the instructions on the test kit correctly.

Are my information and test results confidential?

Yes, we fully comply with the Data Protection Act and will not pass your personal information or test results on to a third party. Under no circumstances will be release your test results to anyone other than yourself. Our memberís login area where we release the results is 100% secure and cannot be accessed by anyone other than the person who created the account.

Do I need a doctorís permission before taking the test?

If a doctor has recommended you take an STI, DNA, allergy or other health test, you can easily buy the test kit online from us. However, obtaining a doctorís permission is not a requirement for buying lab tests from us.

Do I need to speak with my doctor after taking the test?

This is completely up to you and you are under no obligation to do so. If you receive a positive result or a result that concerns you, you may want to discuss it further with a doctor or seek treatment from a medical professional.


How long will I have to wait to receive my test results?

Test sample processing times vary according to each of our partner laboratories and the specific test they are processing. Processing times begin only once the lab has received your sample at their premises, not as soon as you have taken the test at home. STI tests for example are usually processed within 2-5 days, DNA tests within 5 days and Allergy tests within 10 days. These processing times are a guideline only and individual processing times will depend on the sample being processed. How will I receive my test results?

Once your test sample has been processed, your results will be made available to you via our secure memberís area. You will receive an email notifying you that your results are ready to view as soon as we receive them from the lab. To view your results, you simply need to login using the username and password you provided when you created your account with us. Your private memberís area is available to only you, and will list each test you ordered from us as well as the status of your result.

What happens if I receive a positive or unfavourable test result?

If you test positive for any condition, or receive a result that concerns you, we highly recommend that you visit your doctor or medical professional as soon as possible, either to seek treatment or to discuss your result report.

Ordering online

How do I place an order?

Placing an order with us is easy. If you are ordering for the first time, you simply select the test(s) you would like to order and add your selection to your shopping cart. Once you have selected your required test(s), simply continue to checkout where you will enter your personal details and delivery information. Next, you need to select your delivery method and provide your payment information. Finally, simply review and submit your order. You should receive an order confirmation within a few minutes with a summary of your order.

How do I pay?

You can easily pay for your order online through our secure order payment process. We accept the following cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express or you can choose to pay via your PayPal account. Unfortunately we are unable to accept cash payments, payments by Direct Debit, cheques or postal orders.

Can I order over the phone or in person?

We provide a purely online service, for discretion and ease of use for our customers. As a result, itís possible only to order online with us via our secure cart. However, if you have a query about an order or are unsure how to do so online, please donít hesitate to give us a call.


What delivery options are available?

All of our test kits are dispatched directly from our partner laboratories. Standard delivery is available free of charge on all orders.

How do I know when my order will be delivered?

Once the laboratory has dispatched your order, we will send you a Dispatch Confirmation email notifying you that your test is on its way. You can use the tracking number provided in the email to track the status of your delivery on our Shipping page.

Can I specify when my order is to be delivered?

Unfortunately, we are unable to process individual order date/time requests. As standard, all orders will be delivery Monday to Friday between 7am and 8pm.


Can I return my test once Iíve received it?

Due to patient safety, we are unable to process test kit returns once the package has been dispatched from our partner laboratory premises. However, if you place an order with us and wish to cancel it before it has been dispatched from the laboratory (before 3pm) you may do so via email or phone.

Partner Laboratories

All of the laboratories we partner with are accredited with the relevant governing bodies in their fields: CLIA, ISO 17025, Ministry of Justice, ILAC-MRA, AABB and A2LA, amongst others. All test kits are compliant with the the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
